Adaptive Recreation - UPWARD

Overview
UPWARD (Unique Programs for Windsor Area Residents with Disabilities) provides therapeutic recreation programs that meet the leisure needs and interests of individuals with disabilities and of all ages by offering the opportunities for individuals to develop and/or improve:
  • Leisure skills
  • Recreation skills
  • Social skills
Some examples of UPWARD programs include Bowling, Dinner Night Out, Crafty Crafters, Movie Night Out, Tennis, Gardening, Learning to Cook, Storytime & Snacks (Junior UPWARD), and various excursions throughout Colorado.

To see a current list of UPWARD Programs, please visit the UPWARD section in the Activity Guide or register online now.

Participant Information Form
Prior to participating in any UPWARD program, participants must have a current Participant Information Form (PDF) and Participant Code of Conduct Form (PDF), complete with parent / guardian signature, on file with the UPWARD staff. Please include all information requested to help staff create the appropriate structure and include needed adaptations when planning programs. It is essential to have a phone number where the parent / guardian can be reached during the program hours.

Personal Care Attendants
UPWARD program staff cannot administer medication or assist with personal care of participants. Those who require assistance shall provide a personal care attendant during the activity. Personal care attendants are asked to register for programs during which transportation is included. Attendant registration will be free unless the program includes ticket purchase.
