July 4th Activities

Celebrate in Windsor!


2017 July 4th Activities will include:

•  The Four-Legged Fun Run, a dog-friendly race around Windsor Lake, begins at 8 a.m. with a registration starting at 7 a.m. $20 covers entry fee and exclusive race T-Shirt, pre-register by 8 a.m. on July 3rd for a $5 discount. For event registration please visit windsorgov.com/recreg.

•  Windsor Lake offers boating, fishing and a swim beach.  Something for everyone!

•  Local and regional food trucks will be onsite serving up some great food!

•  A dazzling fireworks show around 9:30 p.m.

•  Attendees are invited to bring picnic baskets, lawn chairs and blankets for their convenience and comfort.


  • The north section of the Windsor Lake Trail, including the dog swim beach, will be closed immediately following the Fourth of July 4-Legged Fun Run to facilitate fireworks setup.
  •  For the safety of the community, the Town asks visitors to  remember no glass is permitted in town parks, and the maximum alcohol content by weight is 3.2%. 
  • Charcoal grills are prohibited as well as gas grills over 200 square inches, and propane tanks weighing over one pound.
  • Tents and portable shelter after 6 p.m. are prohibited.
  • Pets must be leashed at all time. For your own pet’s safety, it is strongly recommended you leave your pet at home during the fireworks display.
  • Personal fireworks are never permitted in town limits and are subject to a $500 fine. 
  • 5th Street will close at 7 a.m. and will be limited to handicap  parking only.
  • Extra handicap parking will be available in the Boardwalk Park Parking Lot off of Birch Street along with a loading and unloading zone.
  • 6th and 7th Street turn lanes will close at dusk.
  • It is illegal to park along Highway 257.
