An official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at the Windsor Community Recreation Center to celebrate its recent 40,000 square foot renovation. An address by town dignitaries will kick off the event at 3:00 p.m. followed by tours and events until 6:00 p.m. The center will then open its doors for free public use on Sunday, October 9th, while memberships and use fees will officially begin on Monday, October 10th.
The $16.1 million dollar expansion was funded through a 2014 voter-approved sales tax increase after an extensive research period beginning in 2011 which included a Public Needs Assessment Survey and Feasibility Study.
Membership options consist of a variety of annual, monthly, and daily admission choices for individuals and families. Access to the Windsor Community Recreation Center will cover use of all public facilities including access to multiple gymnasiums connected by an elevated walking track, fitness weight equipment, and access to 31+ aerobics classes per week. In addition, admission will allow full access to our state-of-the-art indoor aquatic facility, featuring a lap pool, lazy river, zero-depth entry pool with play structure, 23-person hot tub, and custom water slide.
