The Arbor Day Tree Sale Is Fast Approaching

treedamage.jpg

The Windsor Tree Board will again be offering a selection of trees at
very reasonable prices to Windsor residents, who can purchase up to three (3)trees for their property. And, this year we are offering a large list of trees
to choose from. These trees are species that do well in our environment andshould be an asset to your landscape. With the increasing number of tree pests it is important to plant adiversity of species in our landscapes in order to outwit those little demons.

Many of us have ash trees that are not in great condition or we do not
want to go to the expense and trouble to treat for the emerald ash borer (whenit becomes necessary to treat). Consider “shadow planting” a new tree near your
existing ash, with the ultimate plan to remove the ash in the future.

Although trees from the tree sale are smaller than many available innurseries, keep in mind that smaller trees become established faster and resume
growth much sooner after planting than larger specimens.
