The Town of Windsor and the American Legion will hold the town’s annual Memorial Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday, May 28, at Lakeview Cemetery.
The Memorial Day ceremony honors veterans laid to rest in Windsor, and will include comments and the placement of the memorial wreath by the American Legion; remarks from Mayor Kristie Melendez and guest speaker Colorado State Representative Perry Buck.
The American Legion Post 109, located at 624 Ash Street in Windsor, will offer free breakfast to all veterans and $5 per plate for non-veterans from 7 to 9 a.m. prior to the ceremony.
Local Boy Scout and Cub Scout troops will place flags and crosses on veteran graves Friday, May 25. If a veteran gravesite is missing a flag, contact the American Legion at 970-518-9617.
The east entrance of the cemetery will be open for Memorial Day weekend. The barricade on Highway 257 at Walnut St. will be temporarily moved to allow access.
