    Town of Windsor Mayor Kristie Melendez is joining mayors across the country in asking residents to make a long-term commitment to manage water resources more wisely by taking part in the annual Wyland National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation April 1-30 — and in return residents can win a new Toyota Prius, water-saving fixtures, and hundreds of other prizes.

  2. Arbor Day 5K Run/Walk

    The Town of Windsor Parks, Recreation & Culture Department and the Windsor Tree Board will hold the 12th Annual Arbor Day 5K Run/Walk at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at Boardwalk Park. Early bird registration is now open and will run through noon April 14 for $15. Race fees include a T-shirt; proceeds go toward planting trees in Windsor. “Arbor Day is a nationally recognized celebration that encourages tree planting and care,” said Windsor Tree Board Chair Alison O’Connor. “The money we raise at the Arbor Day race will help fund more tree plantings in our Windsor community.” There are three ways to pre-register for the Arbor Day 5K Run/Walk: Online at In person at the Community Recreation Center, 250 N. 11th Street By calling 970-674-3500 Day-of registration will begin at 7 a.m. and will cost $20, race T-shirt not guaranteed.
