Class Descriptions

The Town of Windsor offers a wide variety of fitness classes and events. Prior to starting any type of fitness or conditioning program it is best to first check with your doctor. Participation on a regular basis is recommended for proper conditioning. Schedules subject to change and not all classes are offered at all times.

Aqua Plunge - Practice resistance walking, squats, lunges and other movements with and against vortex current, as well as cardio movements and upper body strength, utilizing aqua equipment.

Aqua Pump - Increase heart and lung activity using equipment such as noodles and dumbbells to increase resistance. Formats such as dancing and kickboxing are used to keep class interesting. All experience levels are welcome. Warm up starts at 10 a.m. and instruction begins at 10:15a.m.

Aqua Walk - Participants will enjoy a no-impact, low-gravity cardio walk utilizing the water current and a variety of water equipment for additional cardiovascular resistance.

Beginner Yoga - For the beginning yoga student who is interested in learning basic yoga poses while experiencing improvement in your health & well-being. This class is accessible to all ages & body types. Join us in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

Boot Camp* - This Boot Camp will include a mix of body weight exercises including TRX, interval training and strength training.  Class will be instructed by Certified Personal Trainer, Kevin Hinkle.

Body Pump TM  - is the original barbell class that strengthens your entire body.  This 60-workout challenges all you major muscle groups by using weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls.

Cycle - Bringing you an outdoor cycling experience indoors, that is challenging but attainable for all ability levels..  Motivating instruction and driving music will keep you energized as you work your way through a variety of hill climbs, flat terrains, interval training and sprint to the finish exercises.  Each workout is different as the instructor guides you through different terrains for each class.

Evening Yoga  -  For the yoga student who enjoys a relaxing Vinyasa flow designed to release tension and encourage flexibility. This class focuses on stretching and relaxation. All Fitness levels, ages and body types are welcome.  

Fitness, Fun & Flexibility - This total body workout challenges all your major muscles groups by using weights, bands and your own body weight. The last 15 minutes of class will be for stretching and cool down.  Strength, endurance, mobility and flexibility are all components of this class.

Morning Yoga– This is an energetic class that develops strength, endurance, flexibility and balance designed to get you going in the morning. Join us in working out the kinks and waking up to start your day. Prior knowledge of yoga poses is encouraged, but not necessary.

P90X® LIVE is a group-focused total-body strength and cardio class that incorporates proven principles from personal training and functional strength coaching. Get ready to compete with new workout buddies, bust through personal plateaus together, rock out to hardcore music, and give it your all as you encourage each other to get in the best shape of your lives!        
Pilates - Strengthen, lengthen, and build lean muscles with the powerful stabilization exercises offered in this hour long mat Pilates class. You’ll get stronger, more sculpted muscles, and gain flexibility. You'll improve your posture, improve your joint mobility, and develop a sense of control over your body weight.

Power Yoga - This workout will help participants gain improved flexibility, balance, strength and posture.  This class may incorporate basic poses from various Yoga styles.
Revive – This class will bring members back to life – to revive their physical fitness through exercise.  It will offer low intensity strength training, endurance, balance and flexibility.  This could a continuation of physical therapy for some and for others a start or return to exercise.
R.I.P.P.E.D. - A “Plateau Proof Fitness Formula” instructed by master trainer Pauline Brown. This workout masterfully combines Resistance, Intervals, Power, Plyometric, Endurance, & Diet. 

RUMBLE - Authentic, yet simple to master, cardio mixed martial arts adapted for the group exercise environment! Rumble is formulated with systematic science based techniques that are safe, effective, and FUN! The Rumble Stick creates a higher degree of training and is an extension of your body, which enhances spatial awareness and overall movement.  

Senior Shape Up– Enjoy the benefits of a low-impact class designed to improve flexibility, strength, balance, and coordination in all fitness levels.

Soul Sweat- An exhilarating dance-cardio fitness experience that is so fun you’ll forget you are working out.  Our dynamic combination of cardio, sculpting and coordination will push you to your limit, challenging both mind and body.  Take it at your own pace—Soul Sweat is adaptable for every fitness level.  It’s not about getting it right.  It’s about getting comfortable in your own skin and moving your body.  Playlist includes current pop, hip-hop and dance music.  

Stretch and Meditation - Gentle, flowing stretches combined with basic chair yoga moves and Shavasana meditation.

 T’ai Chi Chih* - Achieve a healthier mind, body, and spirit through an inner discipline that focuses on circulation and balancing your body’s national energy.  T’ai Chi Chih is a slow moving mediation that is fun, easy and enjoyable to do.  Reported benefits include reduced stress, strengthened immune system, weight and B/P control, and better balance and flexibility.  The 19 gentle movements and one pose can be done by anyone regardless of age or physical ability including those in wheelchairs.  It is a joy through movement!  

TRX® - is a suspension training class which allows participants to work against their body weight to improve strength, balance, flexibility and joint stability. TRX RIP TRAINER® which employs an innovative resistance cord system to create a variable, unbalanced load that enables you to develop additional core strength.

Vinyasa Yoga - For the experienced yoga individual, this is a challenging class that develops strength, endurance, flexibility & balance. Knowledge of a variety of yoga poses is encouraged. Class can vary from Vinyasa flow to Ashtanga to Power Yoga.  

Yin Yoga - A gentle approach to the body’s tightness and tensions.  A primarily floor-based class, yin yoga gently targets ligaments, fascia and connective tissue in order to increase flexibility and range of motion through the joints of the body.  Postures are held for 3 to 5 minutes with the support of props to allow the body to passively soften into each pose and aid in relaxation of muscles.  A great balance to active cardio and muscle building pursuits, this softer quiet approach builds inner resilience, strength and flexibility.

Yoga Flow - An all levels vinyasa class linking breath with movement. You will be guided through a moderately paced series of postures creating an energizing flow of dancelike movement.  Each pose is cued with an emphasis on safety and alignment. Modifications and variations are offered throughout class so that each student can individualize their own practice.

Yoga Sculpt - A high-energy class that combines yoga with the added challenge of strength training though the use of hand held weights.  Sculpting exercises, bursts of cardio and HIIT will be included to create a fun, high-intensity, total body workout. We’ll target major muscle groups to create toned, sculpted bodies while also cultivating the balance and flexibility of a yoga practice.

Yoga Sport - Yoga Sport is a an athletic, dynamic, challenging yoga class that combines yoga and weights for strength training, and energetic flowing sequences of postures and poses. This invigorating practice focuses on cardio, core strength, balance and flow to strengthen the body.  
Zumba - Zumba fuses hypnotic musical rhythms and tantalizing moves to create a dynamic workout system designed to be fun and easy to do.
