Ken Bennett has found many ways to serve the Windsor community. Before being a Town Board member, he served on the Parks, Recreation and Culture Advisory Board, a citizens Trails committee, and he continued to be an active member of the Windsor Optimist Club. As a Town Board member, Ken has been the liaison to the Planning Commission, the Windsor Housing Authority, the Water and Sewer Board, and alternate to the regional transportation organization known as the NFRMPO. He also represents Windsor on the Bright Futures Board that provides scholarships to Weld County high school graduates.
His professional career was as a public school teacher, athletic coach, Principal and district administrator. In the private sector, Ken worked with several Washington, DC firms to secure federal appropriations and contracts for Colorado businesses. Ken and his wife Sandy have two adult sons, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.
Ken’s purpose of being on the Town Board is to turn the challenges of rapid growth into opportunities to improve our multimodal transportation systems, water and sewer systems, economic development, as well as the parks, trails and cultural amenities of our community. He is committed to managing the growth we are experiencing in a way that maintains the charm, character and small town feel that we love about Windsor.
