Liquor License Background Check

Each individual Liquor License applicant will undergo a personal background investigation conducted by the Windsor Police Department. An important element of the licensing process is the Authority's determination that the applicant is of good character and reputation.

Should negative information be discovered during the background investigation you will be afforded an opportunity to present evidence of good character and reputation at the Public Hearing on the license application.

Fingerprinting
Upon completion and return of the Individual History Record (Form DR 8404-1-1/06/05) to the Town Clerk, fingerprinting will be required and must be completed at the Windsor Police Department, 200 North 11th St., as part of the licensing process. 

What To Bring With You
  • A cashier's check or money order in the amount of $38.50 per individual being fingerprinted payable to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, cash and personal checks cannot be accepted.
  • Valid Photo ID such as a driver's license, passport, etc.
  • If the application will be in the name of a sole proprietor (HB06S-1023 passed August 1, 2006) verification of lawful presence in the United States is required in the form of a Colorado Driver’s License, Colorado ID card, Military ID, Coast Guard Mariner, or Native American tribal documents. The applicant must also complete a Lawful Presence Affidavit.
