Windsor Parks, Recreation & Culture Provides an Update on Services, Programs and Events

In alignment with state “Safer at Home” health orders and out of an abundance of caution, the Town of Windsor Parks, Recreation & Culture Department wants to provide an update regarding programs and services.

Due to the uncertainty of restrictions on gatherings and the challenges enforcing social distancing, the following Windsor Parks, Recreation & Culture events have been cancelled: Memorial Day Veteran’s Celebration, all June Summer Concert Series events, and the June 5 Yappy Hour.

The Windsor Community Recreation Center and Art & Heritage Center remain closed through the end of May. Programs and facility rentals will remain unavailable until further notice and those that were cancelled had costs refunded to customers. Memberships that were paid in full will be extended for the duration of the closure. Memberships on auto-debit are on hold and funds will not be collected until the facility re-opens. Beginning Monday, May 4, the Community Recreation Center will open for one-on-one personal training sessions. To schedule a session, patrons are encouraged to contact their trainer or call 970-674-3500. Town staff will be required to wear face masks when interacting with the public and high touch surfaces will be disinfected between use.

Parks, Recreation & Culture staff are currently assessing the feasibility and safety requirements for hosting the annual Farmer’s Market. Updates will be posted as soon as they are available.

Beginning Friday, May 1, the swim beach at Windsor Lake will be closed until further notice.

Playgrounds, pickleball and tennis courts as well as baseball fields remain closed. Parks, trails and open spaces remain open but shelter rentals remain unavailable. When enjoying these spaces, please keep six feet or more from other individuals, avoid high-touch surfaces, and use provided hand washing stations, as available. Masks are recommended while recreating in public.
