The Windsor Community Recreation Center will partially close for its annual maintenance week August 15 to 18 to upgrade the locker rooms and deep clean the aquatics area.
“This year, we are ahead of schedule and limiting the impact to our members,” said Kendra Martin, operations and facilities manager. “During the COVID-19 mandatory shutdown, we utilized the time and our staff by rescheduling our annual deep-cleaning and maintenance during the closure of our facilities.”
During maintenance week, the partial closure of the Community Recreation Center includes the closure of the men’s and women’s locker rooms and the pools. The first and second floor bathroom facilities for both genders will remain open. The shower cabanas on the first floor for both genders will also remain open. The locker rooms, however, will be open on a rotation schedule as lockers get upgraded. Members will have the option to change in the showering area.
The women’s locker room will close Monday, Aug.,16 for upgrades. During this closure, the men’s locker rooms will remain open. Once the upgrades to the women’s lockers are completed, the men’s locker room will close and the women’s will reopen. During the closure of the locker rooms, CRC members are asked to be mindful of their space, and others, if they decide to change in the cabanas.
“Windsor Community Recreation Center has a state-of-the-art water filtration that filters and cleans pool water 24-7, 365 days per year. Maintenance week allows us to do a deeper clean and provide any needed upgrades to continue meeting the standards of our members,” said Martin. “This year, we will replace lockers, drain the pools, and do additional cleaning to the entire aquatics area.”
The Town of Windsor has partnered with the Town of Eaton and the City of Loveland to allow Windsor Community Recreation Center members complimentary access to their facilities during our maintenance week, scheduled for Sunday, Aug., 15 to 18. Members of the Windsor Community Recreation Center visiting one of the two facilities must stop by the front desk, show their Windsor Community Recreation Center membership card before entering the Eaton Area Community Center or the City of Loveland’s Chilson Recreation Center.
