The 2022 Comprehensive Plan Visionary Event on Thursday, Oct. 6 will launch efforts to update the Town of Windsor’s Comprehensive Plan and allow the opportunity to attend an expert speaker panel on community development moderated by Mayor Paul Rennemeyer.
Admission to the event -- hosted at Pelican Lakes Resort; 1620 Pelican Lakes Pt. -- is free and doors will open at 4 p.m. for refreshments and social hour. The panel presentation will begin at 5 p.m. with a question and answer session afterwards.
Speakers sitting on the panel include Interim Director of Community Development for the City of Greeley Becky Safarick, President of Land for Hartford Homes Pat McMeekin, Founder of Schroyer Resources Steven Schroyer, and Transportation Planner for Fehr & Peers Carly Sieff Hart. Panelists are discussing emerging development trends along the Front Range and how local cities are adapting to these changes.
Windsor has seen a significant population increase since the adoption of the 2016 Comprehensive Plan – a growth rate more than triple the amount projected under the existing plan. This update will better reflect the desires of the community and coordinates future growth, while also serving as a more accurate guide to drive day-to-day decisions for the town. Additional planning and input events will continue to be a part of future Comprehensive Plan efforts, which is expected to be completed mid 2024.

Registration is free and can be found at surveymonkey.com/r/VisionaryPanel2022. Residents and business owners unable to attend the event are encouraged to sign up for project updates on Windsor’s Project Connect website at windsorprojectconnect.com/register.
