WINDSOR, Colo. — Windsor’s Parks, Recreation & Culture will offer free swimming lessons to third graders living inside the Windsor town limits at Windsor High School, 1100 Main St., through its Third Grade Learn to Swim program, beginning Saturday, Mar. 4.
The classes will be taught by Windsor’s Aquatics staff that are certified swimming instructors with assistance from the Windsor High School swim team. This partnership has made it possible to encourage water safety and living a healthy lifestyle in the community.
“The Third Grade Learn to Swim program is something our Aquatics team and the Windsor High School swim team can look forward to throughout the year,” said Parks, Recreation & Culture Recreation Coordinator Ethan Ragatz. “We’ve had over 100 participants register for the program, and we are so glad we can give third graders an opportunity to learn basic water safety skills for free.”
The Third Grade Learn to Swim program is one of the few in Northern Colorado offering free valuable swimming skills. This four-week program is scheduled on Saturday mornings between Mar. 4 to Mar. 25.
Registration is open on a first-come, first-served basis. Windsor residents interested in registering their third-grade child must sign up in advance.
