Town of Windsor Temporarily Closes River Access Point at the Eastman Park River Experience

Cache La Poudre River and temporary closure signs

WINDSOR, Colo.— To ensure public safety, the Town of Windsor has temporarily closed the public access point to the Cache La Poudre River at Eastman Park, 7025 Eastman Park Dr., due to the river running high and fast. With current river conditions resulting from mountain snowmelt and recent rainfall, entering the water is not advisable.

The National Weather Service has issued a river advisory until Friday, June 9 at 12 a.m.

While the Eastman Park river access point is closed, visit a variety of recreation opportunities and amenities that Windsor has to offer. At Windsor Lake, 100 N. 5th St., watercraft rentals are available seven days a week including canoes, CORCLs, kayaks and paddle boards. The cost is $10 for 30 minutes.

Chimney Park Pool, 421 Chimney Park Dr., is an outdoor facility that features a main pool, baby pool, slide, climbing wall, lounge chairs and picnic tables. Daily admission and membership pass prices vary by age. Daily admission is $3 for children 5 and under, $4 for youth ages 6 to 17 and anyone over 50, $5 for visitors ages 18 and older, and there is a family rate that includes up to four people for $15. Both swimmers and non-swimmers must pay admission fees for entry. Season passes are also available.
