Windsor residents and business owners are invited to take a final look at the updated Comprehensive Plan at a public open house on Wednesday, Feb. 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Windsor-Severance Fire Rescue Station No. 1 located at 100 N. 7th St. Half-hour presentations detailing the specific updates will take place at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., respectively.
During the event, residents will have the opportunity to ask questions, provide comments and connect with Windsor staff and project consultants. Windsor Downtown Alliance (formerly known as the Downtown Development Authority) personnel will also be in attendance to discuss and present the collaborative efforts to revitalize the downtown area as part of the Downtown Master Plan. The event is free to attend and refreshments and light snacks will be available.
Windsor has seen a significant population increase since the adoption of the 2016 Comprehensive Plan – a growth rate more than triple the amount projected under the existing plan. This update better reflects the desires of the community and coordinates future growth, while also serving as a more accurate guide to drive day-to-day decisions for the town.
For the most accurate information on the Comprehensive Plan update and other ongoing projects in Windsor, residents can visit the town’s Project Connect engagement platform. Project Connect facilitates community conversations about topics impacting the town and allows residents to give input on various subject matters, including traffic and parking studies, downtown revitalization, recreation accessibility and more.
Residents and business owners unable to attend the event are encouraged to sign up for project updates on the Project Connect website at bit.ly/TOWCompPlan.
