Park School (Windsor Town Hall), has officially been designated a local historic landmark by Town Board. Chairperson Rachel Kline of the Windsor Historic Preservation Commission submitted the nomination which was unanimously voted for approval on Monday, February 10, 2014. To be designated, a landmark must be at least 50 years old as well as meet other required criteria including architectural, social, and geographic/environmental.
Built in 1905, Park School was Windsor’s first high school and is located on its original location. Additions were made in 1909 including the west wing and third floor. In 1918, a new high school - currently Windsor Middle School - was built and Park School remained open as a grade school until 1978. In 1984 the school was sold to the town and since then, has served as Windsor Town Hall. In 2012, Windsor Town Hall was restored to its original design.
