Survey Info:
Geokinetics Inc., with support from Cougar Land Services, is conducting a geophysical survey in Weld and Larimer Counties on behalf of Geophysical Pursuit Inc., (GPI). The survey will include the Town of Windsor and surrounding area. The purpose is to image and evaluate geological structures and potential oil and gas producing formations below the earth’s surface.
To acquire these images sensors called geophones will be placed at pre-surveyed positions. Specialized vehicles using Vibroseis technology will then direct low force vibrations into the ground. The Vibroseis vehicle places a baseplate in contact with the pavement and generates controlled vibrations. These vehicles will vibrate at pre-surveyed positions every 220 feet for approximately five minutes along the survey route. The Vibrator vehicles will operate on week days only while in town.
Geokinetics is committed to safeguarding the environment, as well as protecting the health and safety of their employees and the community. Geokinetics crews comply with all local, state and federal safety regulations. Geokinetics has been providing seismic data collection and processing services to the oil gas E&P industry for over 30 years.
