[ARCHIVED] Xcel Energy plans outage for modifications

Xcel Energy will be making modifications to the existing electrical facilities on Thursday, June 5 in Windsor. The company will be elevating several electric system facilities as a measure to prevent future outages caused by flooding in these low-lying areas.

Public Service Co. of Colorado, an Xcel Energy company will modify existing electric system facilities at: Eastman Park Drive at Seventh Street and Riverside Drive at Seventh Street from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. MDT Thursday, June 5.

Affected areas will be the Poudre Heights subdivision and some surrounding blocks of Eastman Park.

In order for the modifications to take place, Xcel Energy will be required to take a planned outage. Both locations will be worked simultaneously, so that only one outage will be required once the work begins; the anticipated duration of the outage is 3-6 hours.
