Recently the Weld County Communications Center issued a press release advising citizens to sign up for their new emergency notification system called “Code Red” for emergency notices and reverse 911 calls.
The Town of Windsor, Windsor Severance Fire Protection District, RE-4 and the Town of Severance have been utilizing the Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority, LETA911, for emergency notifications for several years and will continue to do so. While you are encouraged to sign up for any and all alert systems that you feel are appropriate for you and your family please note that the above listed entities will be partnered with LETA911 and the Everbridge system. This does not prohibit or limit you from signing up for the “Code Red” notification system if you wish but our primary emergency notification system will remain with LETA911.
The emergency notification system provided by LETA911 has been used several times in the past and it has been a dependable and highly useful platform to inform the public to specific problems or incidents they need to be aware of.
Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority, LETA911, is the Governing Authority for 9-1-1 in Larimer County Colorado.
LETA911 provides oversight to 9-1-1, the equipment, and the programs funded by LETA. Within this county region there are five 9-1-1 call centers, 25 government entities, one State University, and one National Park.
If you live, work, or are visiting Windsor, you are covered by LETA programs, emergency alert system, and various other programs like Text to 9-1-1, that are available in our area.
