The Town of Windsor selected Pinkard Construction to provide pre-construction services and serve as the General Contractor for the Community Recreation Center Expansion. Pinkard’s experience, relationships and personal commitments impressed the interview team, consisting of Town of Windsor employees and a representative from Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture (BRS), who is completing design work. The team was confident Pinkard would provide the best quality product and experience for the community.
Pinkard Construction’s experience includes a strong background in occupied renovations; the CM/GC delivery method; 46 swimming pools and 51 recreation centers, including six recreation center projects with BRS. Pinkard has won 14 first place National Excellence in Construction awards for renovation projects.
“As a town resident and user of the Community Recreation Center I am excited to be a part of making this project a huge success for Windsor” said Construction Manager Blake Chambliss.
Pinkard Construction submitted a Request for Qualifications in January along with eleven other firms. Four were invited to submit full proposals, including Pinkard, Adolphson & Peterson, FCI Construction and Dohn Construction. All four finalists participated in a group presentation and interview.
Pinkard’s pre-construction staff will now join the team for the development of construction documents.
Staff includes:
Rick Converse, Chief Estimator
Jim Adams, Senior Project Manager
Troy Bohlender, Senior Superintendent
Blake Chambliss, Construction Manager
The project is expected to break ground in July 2015 and be complete in August 2016.
