As of 10:00 AM, May 19th, 2015 the investigation into the fatal shooting at County Road 15 and County Road 72 continues. The FBI is assisting the Windsor Police Department with the investigation .Area law enforcement has been notified of the situation that occurred in Windsor. The public has been helping in responding with tips and the Windsor Police Department is following-up on any information received.
The Windsor Police Department is asking residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the Town of Windsor Police Department at 970-674-6400.
The public is encouraged to submit tips on this crime to the Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers.

PREVIOUS INFORMATION FROM 5/18/2015:
A fatal shooting occurred at approximately 10:00 AM, May 18th, 2015 of a bicyclist traveling northbound on County Road 15 near County Road 72.
The victim was found by a passing motorist. Emergency personnel were called to the scene at which time the individual was pronounced dead. The victim was shot twice. This is being investigated as a homicide by the Town of Windsor Police Department.
The victim, John Jacoby, was 48 years old and was a part-time Park Caretaker with the Town of Windsor.
The investigation is ongoing and further updates will be provided when more information is received.
