The Windsor Town Board and employees offer our deepest condolences and sympathies to the family of John Jacoby. John had been a park caretaker for the Town since 2012. He provided exceptional service to our community and was well liked by all.
Wade Willis, Parks & Open Space Manager, said, “He took a lot of pride in his work, not just the parks he was responsible for, but all Town facilities.”
John took care of Main Park, the Community Recreation Center, and the Police Services Building. He assisted with general upkeep to help beautify our parks and other areas.
Willis said, “He would always come in early to the parks shop and chat, especially about sports. He seemed to have a special bond with everyone he encountered.”
John always offered a helping hand. “He will be deeply missed as he was a fixture in the community. Almost everyone in the Town knew him in one way or another.”
Mayor John Vazquez added, “On behalf of the Town of Windsor, our hearts go out to the family of John Jacoby. We are extremely saddened by his tragic loss which will be felt by the entire community. All who knew John loved him; his family has been a part of the community for many years. He will be deeply missed.”
