[ARCHIVED] Updates on flooded areas in Windsor

UPDATE:
6/11/15 3:25pm

Please prepare for possible flooding in Windsor over the next few days. The NWS has issued a Flood Warning with the Cache la Poudre River at the Canyon Mouth and in Fort Collins. This is due to forecasted significant increases in stream levels due to precipitation over the next 30 hours. Flash flood intensity thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening then steady moderate to heavy rain overnight and early Friday. There could be short period rainfall rates of up to 3 inches per hour under the heaviest thunderstorms. Additionally, there continues to be 1 to 2 inches of water coming out of the high mountain snow pack a day.

There is a possibility of flooding in low lying areas and possible road closures including WCR 13, 7th Street and SH 257. If flooding does occur, please do not go into flood waters. Do NOT cross barricaded roads. Visit Ready Colorado and make a plan.

Due to spring run off and excessive rain, the Poudre River is running high and is currently increasing. Do not go into flood water. The Town is monitoring the river and will close roads and trails if it becomes necessary.
