[ARCHIVED] Klimek to Be Sworn in as Police Chief July 25

The Town of Windsor will hold a ceremonial oath of office to designate Lieutenant Rick Klimek as the new Windsor chief of police at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 25, at the Police Department office.

Mayor Kristie Melendez will administer the oath of office.

Klimek will officially begin the new role on July 23, replacing John Michaels who will retire July 22 after 40 years of service with the Windsor Police Department.

Klimek, a law enforcement veteran, has more than 30 years of experience. He began his career in Windsor in 1985 as a patrolman and rose through the ranks, making sergeant in 1993 and lieutenant in 2014.

The Windsor Police Department is located at 200 N. 11th Street, Windsor, Colo.
