The Windsor Police Department (WPD) continues its investigation of the December 15 apparent suicide of a 17-year-old, male Windsor High School student.
WPD is following standardized death investigation protocols, and there has been no evidence at this time to suggest the 17-year-old’s death was anything other than suicide.
The student was in school the day of the event, but left school grounds alone just prior to taking his own life. There is no indication that any other students or staff members were in danger and no indication the student brought any weapons to school.
Due to the child’s age, and in respect to his family, WPD is not releasing the child’s name. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Weld County Coroner’s Office.
The WPD case is considered active until such time that all information has been collected, evaluated and reports finalized. No other information is being released at this time.
