Rocky Mountain Sports Park (RMSP) is set to build the world’s largest sports park in Windsor, Colo.
RMSP will be a destination baseball and softball complex for youth, attracting players from across the nation, as well as internationally. The sports park will host week-long training and tournaments that give young athletes the opportunity to grow and enhance their skills in baseball and softball.
“After years of coaching and umpiring, I knew there was a huge need for a sports park to help grow the game of baseball,” said RMSP President Mike Billadeau. “This park will do that and then some.”
The proposed $225-million project will be constructed at the corner of Highway 257 and Harmony Road.
RMSP will be home to 65 sports fields, dormitories, corporate offices, and a 10,000-person stadium on a 413-acre site just north of downtown Windsor. The park will also include more than 200 acres of commercial development.
The first phase is scheduled to be complete fall of 2018 with the second phase of the park opening in spring of 2019.
“RMSP will make the athletes feel like they are in the big leagues,” said Billadeau. “This park will leave a lasting impression on youth across the nation and, hopefully, will reinforce their love of baseball for life.”
