The Town of Windsor received its twelfth Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the town’s 2017 budget.
The town also received Special Performance Measures Recognition.
According to the Government Finance Officers Association, the award “reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting,” and the award is the “highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting.”
To receive the award, the Town of Windsor had to rank proficient or outstanding in four categories with 14 mandatory criteria.
“The town worked hard to meet the stringent guidelines of the GFOA,” said Director of Finance Dean Moyer. “We believe that this honor not only shows our commitment to national best practices, but also our commitment to our community and the resources they entrust to the town.”
