The Town of Windsor will participate in the 2017 National Night Out event on Tuesday, Aug. 1. Currently, there are 18 neighborhood events scheduled in Windsor.
National Night Out is a community-building program that encourages citizens nationwide to hold a neighborhood gathering, meet their neighbors, and partner with police to help make communities safer. Neighborhoods host informal events, typically held between 4:30 and 8:30 p.m. Representatives from the Town of Windsor, the Windsor Police Department and Windsor Severance Fire Rescue will visit each location.
“Our goal with National Night Out is for neighbors to meet each other and to get to know our department,” said Chief of Police Richard Klimek. “When we know and work together with our neighbors, our community is stronger and safer.”
