Windsor to Offer Christmas Tree Recycling at New Location Starting Dec. 26

This year, the Town of Windsor will offer its free live tree recycling program for residents, however, the tree collection site has moved from Windsor’s Brush Recycling Center to the Chimney Park Athletic Fields parking lot, located at 200 East Chestnut St. Residents can drop off their live trees from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 26 through Friday, Jan. 25. Trees must be free of decorations including wire, hooks, tinsel and lights and artificial trees will not be accepted.

The Town of Windsor announced earlier this month that it is closing the Brush Recycling Site and will stop offering yard waste recycling effective Monday, Dec. 31.

Weather permitting, the town plans to relocate the other part of its recycling center—which currently accepts cardboard, low-grade paper, glass and plastics—to its Public Works facility, 922 N. 15th St., by March 1, 2019.
