Who should I call to report that a street light is out?: Street lights in the Town of Windsor are owned and maintained by Xcel Energy or Poudre Valley REA. The best way to report a street light outage is to contact the power company where you pay your bill (Xcel Energy or Poudre Valley REA). To expedite your request, you should have the pole number, house address number and nearest intersecting street or cul-de-sac. 1. Who do I call about pot holes or road hazards?: Report pot holes and road hazards to Windsor Streets at 970-674-5400 or online via SeeClickFix! Potholes are generally filled within two business days after initial report, weather permitting.

2. When will the town fix my road? (Asphalt overlays, roadway seals and concrete repair): Road projects normally start in April through October. There are many pavement treatments that can be used, but completing the right repair on the right road at the right time is the key. Temperatures need to be warm enough for the asphalt plants to operate, so that the asphalt does not cool too quickly. Windsor Streets is responsible for minor street patching such as filling moderate to severe pot holes, water break areas, alligator areas, settling areas, and minor drainage issues. They also identify bad asphalt and concrete areas for Windsor Engineering to have evaluated for the right type of fix. Windsor Engineering is responsible for large scale capital improvement projects such as crack and slurry seals that are applied on in town streets, chip seals that are applied on outer roadways, overlays, concrete repair such as curbs, gutters, sidewalks, flow pans, and large drainage issues throughout town limits. CDOT is responsible for road improvement projects on Hwy 392 (Main St) and Hwy 257.

3. When does the town paint streets and apply thermal marking (crosswalks)?: Painting is done from May through September. The temperatures need to be warm enough for the paint and thermal markings to stick to the street.

4. Who should I contact to request any new pavement markings within town limits?: Pavement markings, such as crosswalks and center lines, are an important safety feature of our transportation system. Markings help guide both motorists and pedestrians to their destinations. The town’s Traffic Engineer has to approve any new requested pavement markings within town limits to meet MUTCD standards. 5. What is the maintenance procedure for the alleys in town?: Alleys are normally graded once a year in the spring. Additional grading is done on an as-needed basis. Alleys are sprayed for weeds down the center on an as-needed basis. The sides of the alley are left up to the property owners.

6. When does the town seal cracks?: Windsor Engineering starts crack sealing in early spring, March through April. The cracks are at their widest point during this time.

7. Who do I call to report a traffic signal light that is out?: The traffic signal lights located on HWY 392 (Main Street) and HWY 257 are owned and maintained by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). Contact CDOT for any traffic signal issues along these highways at 970-350-2100. The Town of Windsor is responsible for the traffic signal lights at Weld County Road 13 and Crossroads Boulevard, as well as Harmony Road/Weld County Road 74 and Weld County Road 15. Call 970-674-5403 to report traffic signal light issues at these intersections.

9. Who should I call if I find a dead animal in the road?: Call the Police Department at 970-674-6400.

10. What is the maintenance procedure for the town's Weed Management Program on public properties?: Windsor Streets oversees mowing and spraying of right-of-way easements around sign posts and road markers, roadsides, medians, open space easements, behind fence lines, shoulders of the roads, and storm drainage detention areas. Windsor Parks oversees mowing and spraying of parks, trails, natural areas and irrigation ditches. The focus is to keep weeds to a minimum and prevent noxious weed growth. Some areas are mowed and sprayed more frequently depending on their location and use.

11. When does the town mow roadsides?: Mowing normally begins in May and continues through the summer until the first frost, usually October.

12. Who should I contact to request any new street signs in town?: Stop signs, yield signs, MPH signs, etc., are an important safety feature of our transportation system. Signs provide information to the traveling public at all times and help guide them to their destinations.
